Am I covered by extended health insurance or MSP?Unfortunately, counselling is not covered by MSP. Insurance coverage may vary depending on your extended health benefits plan. We recommend verifying with your health insurance provider whether they cover services provided by a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC).
-
Do you bill my insurance provider directly?Direct billing services are not provided. However, upon receiving payment for your appointment, we will issue an invoice for your records. You may then submit this invoice to your insurance provider for reimbursement.
-
How do I pay for the services?Payments will be securely processed through the Jane App payment terminal. How does counseling with me work?I am gentle and curious about who you are and your life and I ensure that my sessions are driven by you and your unique needs. Depending on your needs, we may employ various therapeutic tools and borrow from several key counselling theories. A crucial aspect of therapy with me, both during and between sessions, involves discovering what strategies are the most beneficial for you in the present moment. This can fluctuate from time to time and year to year. It is perfectly normal if a previously effective approach no longer yields the same results. It is my hope that the therapeutic space will be an arena of experimentation and self-discovery for us, where we discern the most effective ways to support yourself.
-
How frequently should I schedule my counselling sessions? It might be beneficial to attend sessions more frequently in the initial stages of our counseling process. This will help us establish a strong therapeutic relationship and address the pressing concerns that led you to seek therapy. As we progress, we can adjust the frequency of sessions based on your needs and circumstances. We can discuss together what frequency would be most beneficial for you.
-
What can I expect at my first appointment? Our initial session will center on getting to understand you and your intention for therapy. We start where you are. You could also ask me questions about my approach and get a sense of what it would be like for us to work together. I'll ask questions to gain insight into your personal history and circumstances, but please feel no pressure to share any details that make you uncomfortable. Above all, our first meeting aims to establish a strong connection and foster trust and safety. It is crucial that you feel valued, safe and respected in our sessions. If at any point you feel we may not be the right fit, I will completely understand and respect your decision.
